Getting Started
Prerequisites
What you need before building your first agent on Talkr
To use the hosted platform
- A modern browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari) with microphone access, for testing agents with Web Calls
- An account — either sign up or accept an invite from your organization (see Getting Started)
- API keys for at least one LLM, TTS, and STT provider (or one Realtime/speech-to-speech provider) — see Model Configuration. You need this before you can place a Web Call, but not before exploring the dashboard.
To take real phone calls
- An account with one of the supported telephony providers (Twilio, Vonage, Plivo, Telnyx, Cloudonix, Vobiz, or your own Asterisk PBX)
- A phone number from that provider, in E.164 format
Running Talkr yourself instead
If you're deploying Talkr on your own infrastructure rather than using the hosted platform, see Enterprise Deployment for system requirements, Docker setup, and self-hosted configuration.
