Recording Disclosure
Speak a consent notice at the start of every call before the agent's greeting, since call audio is recorded.
Talkr records every call's audio by default. Recording Disclosure speaks a short consent notice at the very start of the call, before the agent's greeting, so callers know the call is recorded. This is configured at two levels: an organization-wide default, and an optional per-agent override.
Whether a recording disclosure is legally required depends on your jurisdiction and use case. Talkr provides the mechanism; you're responsible for determining what disclosure, if any, your organization needs and setting the toggle/text accordingly.
Organization default
Go to Organization Settings and find Call recording disclosure:
- Enabled (default) — every agent speaks a disclosure notice at the start of every call, before its own greeting.
- Disabled — no disclosure is spoken, unless a specific agent overrides this (see below).
When enabled, you can also set the disclosure text spoken to callers (a sensible default is provided).
Per-agent override
Open a specific agent and go to Settings → Recording Disclosure. Three modes:
- Use organization default — follow whatever the organization has configured, on or off. This is the default for every new agent.
- Always play for this agent — speak a disclosure at the start of every call on this agent, regardless of the organization setting. Optionally provide different wording than the org default; leave the text blank to reuse the organization's own disclosure text.
- Never play for this agent — skip the disclosure entirely on this agent, even if the organization has it enabled.
Use the override when a specific agent needs different behavior than the rest of your organization — for example, a jurisdiction-specific agent that needs its own wording, or an internal testing agent where you don't want the notice spoken every time.
