Talkr CRM
A lead queue that keeps itself up to date — every call attaches to the person it involved, with stages, follow-ups, notes and one-click import from the spreadsheet you already use.
Most small and mid-sized businesses don't run a CRM. They run a spreadsheet — and it works, right up until someone has to remember who was called, what was said, and who needs ringing back.
Talkr CRM closes that gap without asking you to buy another product. Your agents are already making the calls; the CRM simply keeps the record. Every call attaches itself to the person it involved, moves them along your pipeline based on what actually happened, and leaves you a list of who to call next.
Talkr CRM is an optional module. If it isn't switched on for your organization yet, talk to your account manager — once enabled, Talkr CRM appears in your sidebar under Manage.
Why this exists
If you already run HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho or another CRM, keep it — Talkr connects to all of them, and your call outcomes flow straight into the system you already trust.
Talkr CRM is for everyone else: the business whose lead list lives in Excel, who has been quoted an enterprise licence and a six-week rollout to solve what is really one problem — nobody is writing down what happened on the calls.
That problem we can solve completely, because we're the ones making the calls.
What makes it different
Ordinary CRMs are filing cabinets: somebody has to type into them. The moment a salesperson stops updating records, the data rots.
Nothing here is typed in by hand. When a call ends:
- the contact is created if you've never spoken to this number before
- the call is attached to them, with its recording, transcript and outcome
- their stage moves based on what happened on the call
- the call count and "last contacted" update themselves
A spreadsheet can't do that. Neither can a CRM that doesn't own the phone line.
The board
Contacts sit in five stages, and the board is the fastest way to see where everyone stands:
| Stage | What it means |
|---|---|
| New | Not reached yet, or the dial never connected |
| Attempted | Reached, but no conversation — voicemail, or the call timed out |
| Contacted | A real conversation happened and ran its course |
| Qualified | The agent qualified them, or the call was transferred to a human |
| Disqualified | Established as not a prospect |
Drag a card to move someone by hand. Every card also has a stage dropdown, so you're never forced to drag.
A stage you set by hand stays put. Once you move someone deliberately, later calls won't move them back — the record shows "set by hand" so you can tell the two apart.
Prefer a list? Switch to List view for a sortable table with filters on stage, owner and last contacted.
Bringing your list across
Click Import and upload the file you already have. Talkr reads:
- CSV, TSV and plain text
- Excel (
.xlsx) - comma, tab and semicolon separated files
What the file should look like
Not sure where to start? The import screen has a Download a sample link that gives you a small file to copy:
| name | phone_number | company | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Priya Sharma | 9876543210 | priya@apexsteel.in | Apex Steel |
| Rahul Verma | 9823456789 | Verma Traders | |
| Anita Desai | +919812345678 | anita@novainteriors.co.in | Nova Interiors |
| Suresh Kumar | 9845012345 |
Three things that sample is showing you:
- Only the phone number is required. Email and company are blank on some rows, and that's fine.
- Local numbers are fine as they are.
9876543210works — you pick the country when you import. - Numbers already written with
+are left alone.+919812345678is used exactly as given.
The sample is generated from the same rules the importer uses, so it can never drift out of date with what Talkr actually accepts.
You don't need to tidy your file first
You don't need to rename anything. The importer recognises the column names real spreadsheets use — Mobile, Mobile No., Contact Number, Phone, WhatsApp Number, Ph. No. and many more — and it handles the things that usually break an import:
- a title row above your headers
- names split across First Name and Last Name
- blank spacer rows
- the same number appearing twice
- files saved from Excel with the invisible character that breaks most importers
Confirm before anything is saved
You'll see the columns Talkr matched, the first few rows of your file, and a chance to correct anything. Columns it is unsure about are flagged check this. Nothing is written until you press Import.
Local phone numbers
If your sheet has numbers like 9876543210 with no country code, choose the country on the import screen and Talkr expands them correctly. Numbers already written with a + are left exactly as they are.
This matters more than it looks. A number stored without its country code can never be matched to the same person again — so Talkr asks rather than guesses.
Transliterating names into a regional script
If your sheet has names typed in Latin script — "vishal gupta" — but you want them to appear on the board in their native script, tick Transliterate names into a regional script and choose the language. Talkr converts each name using Bhashini, the Government of India's translation platform, through your organization's own Bhashini credentials.
This needs Bhashini set up first — see Settings → Bhashini. It's off by default and stays off unless you tick it for that specific import; not every spreadsheet is meant to have its names converted, so Talkr never does this without being asked.
A name that can't be converted keeps its original spelling rather than being left blank — one row failing to translate doesn't stop the rest of the import.
What happens to people already in your CRM
If a row matches a contact you already have, Talkr fills in the blanks and leaves the rest alone. A company name gets added where there wasn't one; a name you corrected, or a stage a call established, is never overwritten by a re-upload of an old file.
Every row is accounted for
When the import finishes you'll see how many contacts were added, how many were updated, and every row that couldn't be imported along with the reason. No silent failures.
Working a contact
Open any contact for the full picture:
- Every call, newest first, linking straight to the recording and transcript
- Summarise — a plain-English summary of what was said on that call
- Notes — what you observed, kept in order, never overwritten
- Owner — who's responsible
- Follow up on — the date that puts them in your queue
Call summaries, on demand
Click Summarise on any call and Talkr reads the transcript and writes you two to four sentences: what the caller wanted, what was agreed, and what needs following up.
Summaries are generated when you ask for one and then kept, so opening the contact again is instant and costs nothing. You only pay for the calls you actually read — not for every call your agents make.
Taking your data out
Click Export for a CSV of your contacts — names, numbers, email, company, stage, call counts, last contacted and follow-up dates. It opens cleanly in Excel, including non-English names.
Your data is yours, and getting it out is one click. We'd rather you stayed because the product is good.
What it deliberately doesn't do
Talkr CRM is a lead queue, not an enterprise CRM. There are no custom objects, no quote builders, no email sequences, no report designer.
That's a deliberate choice. Those features are why CRM rollouts take six weeks and why half the fields end up empty. If you need them, use a full CRM — and connect it to Talkr, which is what our connectors are for.
What Talkr CRM does, it does without anyone having to remember to update it.
Frequently asked
Do I need this if I already have a CRM? No. Use our connectors instead — your call outcomes flow into the CRM you already run.
What happens to contacts I created before enabling the CRM? Contacts are built from calls made after the module is switched on. Import your existing list to bring history across.
Can two organizations see each other's contacts? No. Contacts belong to one organization, and every request is checked against the organization making it.
Who can turn it on? A Talkr platform administrator, per organization. It's off by default.
Campaigns
Create, schedule, and monitor outbound calling campaigns from the Talkr dashboard — CSV upload, concurrency, retries, the circuit breaker, and reporting.
Bhashini
Translate a completed call's transcript and transliterate CRM contact names, using the Government of India's Bhashini platform and your own free Bhashini credentials.
